BARNOLDSWICK had to show all of the fighting spirit to come from behind to earn a point against fellow high-flyers Irlam.
After a goalless opening half, Irlam took the lead 10 minutes after the restart when Ryan Hutchinson curled home a free kick beyond the despairing dive of Billy Carrington.
But Town were back on level terms 10 minutes later when Joe Shelmerdine bundled the ball home from close range.
Town were reduced to 10 men when Alderson was sent off.
