JASON Banton fired Blackburn Rovers' under 18s to a 1-0 win over Leyton Orient to set up an FA Youth Cup fifth round clash at home to Manchester United.
The former Arsenal striker converted from the penalty spot on 70 minutes at Ewood Park last night, after being fouled by goalkeeper Jack Giddens, to see off Orient's brave resistance.
United's visit will provide Rovers' young guns with a stiff test although the East Lancashire academy do currently top the Premier table by four points.
Tom Hitchcock's close-range volley was the nearest Rovers came to breaking the deadlock in a tight first half, while Orient striker Louis Crowther almost gave the visitors the lead with a header.
Michah Evans then bent a shot around the post early in the second half before home goalkeeper Josh Swann saved well from substitute Chris Benjamin.
