DARREN Ferguson, who was among the front-runners to replace Owen Coyle as Burnley manager, is out of the running after taking over as Preston boss.
The son of Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson has been out of work since leaving Peterborough in November.
He had been linked with the Turf Moor hotseat following Coyle's departure - but has now replaced the sacked Alan Irvine at Deepdale.
