A NEW-LOOK Clitheroe ended their six-match losing streak with a decent performance at Salford.
In an attempt to get the Blues out of their rut, manager Neil Reynolds handed out debuts to new signings Jonathan Forbes, Conor Kavanagh and striker Andrew Smith, on loan from Accrington Stanley.
Clitheroe opened the game brightly and had several good chances towards the end of the first half as Smith saw his close range effort flicked onto the bar, Dave Hankin had a snap shot saved and Reynolds saw a blistering drive pushed over for a corner.
However, the Blues fell behind when one of their former strikers, Danny Toronczak, finished from an angle.
Despite falling behind, Clitheroe continued to press and scored a deserved equaliser when Craig Sargeson fired home a 25-yard free- kick that left the home keeper rooted to the spot.
