JAY-JAY Okocha has topped the poll for the Wanderers greatest-ever Premier League goal.

Following Kevin Davies netting Bolton’s 400th Premiership effort in last Sunday’s 3-1 win at West Ham, we asked The Bolton News readers to vote on their favourite strike of all time.

And we have been inundated with your responses.

Sasa Curcic, Gudni Bergsson, Youri Djorkaeff and Kevin Nolan’s spectacular efforts were on the shortlist.

But it was Okocha’s blockbuster against West Ham which ran out the convincing winner – registering an overwhelming 54 per cent of the vote.

The Nigerian star’s wonder goal came in the Whites’ 1-0 victory against the Hammers at the Reebok in April 2003.

Jay-Jay picked the ball up 10 yards inside his own half, evaded Joe Cole’s lunge before unleashing an unstoppable 25-yard piledriver.

The strike was not only a superb piece of individual skill, but went a long way to helping Sam Allardyce’s side pip the Londoners to preserve their top-flight status.

In second place was Nolan’s magnificent volley against Blackburn at the Reebok last season (14 per cent) followed by Djorkaeff’s overhead kick at Charlton (12 per cent), and Curcic’s stunning solo effort against Chelsea and Bergsson’s 30-yard screamer against Barnsley (both 10 per cent).
