The multi-talented Eleanor Markendale has been chosen to represent the North of England U20s and then the England U20s on consecutive weekends.
On Sunday she will be in action for the North in a regional match at Abingdon in Oxfordshire where she will feature in the long jump, and probably the hurdles.
Ribble Valley’s Leigh Lennon is also in the Northern squad having been chosen for the 800 metres.
A week on and Pendle’s Eleanor will be on England duty in the Combined Events Home Countries International at Stoke, taking part in the heptathlon.
Each team in the match is six strong and must include at least one competitor in each of four age groups – senior, U23, U20 and U17.
