BURNLEY manager Owen Coyle hopes Remco van der Schaaf benefited from a full 90 minutes for the reserves at Accrington Stanley's Fraser Eagle Stadium last night.
The holding midfielder, who signed on a free transfer from Vitesse Arnhem in the summer, also had his pre-season interupted by the thigh problem.
"It was important that Remco got 90 minutes," said Coyle.
"He missed some of the pre-season and we're desperate to get him to full fitness so that he can play a part in the team.
"We're working hard on a fitness programme, which incorporated the reserve game.
"We want to get him 100 per cent fit as soon as possible."
