IAN Craney “can’t wait to get started” for Huddersfield after completing his move from Accrington Stanley for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old midfielder has agreed terms on a three-year contract after starting the season in fine form with two goals in three appearances for Stanley.

He said: “I just can’t wait to get started. I’m not coming here to make up the numbers - I want to play every game.

“What would be the point in coming here if I didn’t think we could get promoted? I think every player here should believe we will get promoted.

“You look at the stadium and the fan-base and everything about the club suggests that we should be in the Championship.”

He added: “I played my last game for Accrington on Saturday and then I got a phonecall on Sunday morning, saying the club had accepted the bid and I was okay to talk to Huddersfield.

“I’m glad that Gary (Roberts) is here as well, we had some great times playing together at Accrington, so hopefully we can rekindle that.

“My time at Accrington in the Conference was unbelievable - I went into every game thinking I would score or that we would win. It was a great feeling.

“I was happy playing and scoring goals, I knew if I went back there, I would find my feet again and start enjoying my football.”
