BLACKBURN Rovers boss Paul Ince is casting his over Spanish midfielder Jordi Lopez and Israel goalkeeper Ohad Levita after taking the pair on trial.

Lopez is a free agent after leaving La Liga outfit Real Mallorca by mutual consent this summer, having spent last season on loan at Racing Santander.

The 27-year-old can play on the right side of midfield and may be seen as an ideal replacement for David Bentley, although Ince is also monitoring another Spaniard, highly-rated Valencia winger Joaquin.

Levita is an Israeli U21 international goalkeeper that currently plays for top-flight side Hapoel Kfar Saba.

well at last some class,, lopez would be an outstanding addition to the squad.

i have seen him on loads of telly in spain, the lad is class. quick, great right or left feet, can pass, cross and beet a man with tricks,

dont know why he is on trial?? mybe he is not fully fit, and remember he was in the spanish side that did so well in the world cup??
so come on rovers add him to are squad, he will only improve it,,

and i have heard grella will sign tomoz on a 5 year deal,, so fingers crossed ..
dont think we will get joquim he is world class and if he really wants to leave all the big boys will want to sign him , liverpool tried last term but was put off by his club,,,

but grella and lopez will do for me, come on you blues ,,,

You must be thinking of someone else, im 90% sure lopez has never played for spain. HE is on trail becasue he has been released by his club. He cant be that good if a club have released him, and he was on trial at portsmouth and redknapp wasnt intrested in him. Sounds like a world class player to me ! NOT

Think Lopez as already had a trial with Portsmouth and like has been mention he has been released by Real Mallorca.

So it would appear that we are shopping in the bargain basement again.

Having send that we have had success in the past but can this continue

it would be nice to acquire some established proven players for change given the fact that we have banked some big money in recent times.

I'm starting to think that we'll never spend the money we supposedly have, it seems to me that our club hates to part with it.

Come on Williams and Ince, prove me wrong!

i dont think its about not wanting to spend the money, its more got to do with the fact that we already have an established aquad,so we dont need much to add.I think that if Grella signs, then really we would only need to fill the right side of midfield. there is no harm in trialling these guys,it has worked well in the past,so its a good move as we dont lose anything, but will gain so much if the trialist turns out to be a good un.

Jordi López Felpeto, Jordi López (born February 28, 1981 in Granollers, Catalonia), is a Spanish football player, who is currently unattached. His typical positions are right or defensive midfielder.

Football career
As a young footballer, López played for both FC Barcelona and Real Madrid's B teams. He went on to represent, after appearing with Madrid in 2 2003-04 matches, Sevilla FC (2004-06) and RCD Mallorca. With the Andalusia side, López took part in 10 contests during the UEFA Cup victorious campaign, scoring the only goal in a win at Lokomotiv Moscow.

In 2006-07, López was loaned by Mallorca to Racing de Santander, where he was often used from the bench, as the Cantabria side achieved a first-ever UEFA Cup qualification.

At the end of the season, Mallorca released López, and he immediately started training with English Premier League side Portsmouth F.C. However on the 19th of August it was revealed he was having a trial with fellow English Premier League club Blackburn Rovers.

Iceman, that must mean Man U Chelsea and the like must have very poor squads if that is the case. They have to spend tens of millions adding to their squad.
I do agree that there is nothing wrong with having players on trial first especially when you dont have much money to spend.

It is great to see Ince is giving trials to all these players. He knows we don't have loads of money to spend so he is being very sensible in having a look at these players first hand, before committing to anything.

I'd much rather see lots of players coming and going on trial, than to spend 5m on someone who turns out not to be up to par and ends up being in the reserves.
