Brent Peters will welcome former FC United of Manchester defender Craig Corneille to his squad as Bacup Borough face Atherton Colleries for the second time in four days.

With the likes of David Luker, Ryan Marley, Phil Melville and Lee Stott unavailable through injury and family commitments respectively, the new addition will come as a timely boost.

However Peters feels that having to play a revised team from the weekend could work in Bacup’s favour.

Peters explained: “It gives an opportunity to other lads to try and keep their place in the first team.

"Having new faces in the team will also disrupt their preparation.”

The Borough boss is also happy with the team spirit at the club after the turbulence of last season.

Peters added: “The mood in the camp is good. We’ve got a bunch of young lads who are very fit and very ambitious.”
