BURNLEY boss Owen Coyle insists his summer spending spree is far from over.

The Clarets signed up four new players during a busy seven days at Turf Moor last week.

Deals were concluded for striker Martin Paterson, midfielder Kevin McDonald, defender Christian Kalvanes and goalkeeper Diego Penny.

But Coyle revealed he is looking to add at least another three players.

And at the top of his shopping list is another defender, midfielder and striker.

He said: “I haven’t stopped there. There are other players out there who I would like to come to the football club.

“We were looking to strengthen every department. We’ve brought a goalkeeper in, a defender, midfielder and an attacker.

“I’m still looking for another defender, midfielder and striker. But they have to be the right player. I’ve said it before, I won’t be bringing anyone in for the sake of it.”

A common theme from his transfers so far have been the level of patience shown by the Scotsman as he attempts to entice his targets to East Lancashire.

And he said it was a practice that he would be continuing with in the weeks ahead as he shapes his squad in time for the start of the new season.

He added: “Everything came together in a week, but these things haven’t happened overnight.

“It’s happened over a period of time and I’ve still got another three or four things that I’m working on.

“Hopefully they can come to fruition.”
