CHRIS and Heidi Woodcock claimed a well-earned seventh place on the Jaks Bar Asphalt Stages in the Isle of Man.
The husband-and-wife team from Clitheroe and district motor club brought their Mitsubishi Evo6 home less than five seconds behind winner Mark and Eunice Cubbon.
Fellow club members Steve Lewis and Ben Anderson finished 14th overall in their Subaru Impreza.
Less lucky were Ian and Gary Dawes, who crashed out on the Saturday morning in their Minisport of Padiham BMW, while team-mates Daniel Harper and Chris Campbell, in a similar car, also failed to finish.
Pre-event favourite John Cope, from Bury, went off the road in his Subaru Impreza, breaking the steering.
A record 63 crews entered the event, the opening round of the Eurocars Motorsport Manx Rally Championship, many from the British mainland, attracted by 15 classic stages on the Manx closed public roads.
