THE grave of Blackburn Rovers founder John Lewis is undergoing restoration.
The grave was found by author Peter Lupson while he was researching a football book last year.
Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams said he was keen for the club to mark the grave and to highlight the role Mr Lewis played in the creation of Blackburn Rovers.
The gravestone has been removed from Blackburn cemetery and is having minor alteration work done to the original renovations carried out last year before it is put back in place.
Mr Lewis, a coachbuilder and promoter of the Temperance Movement, launched the club in 1875. He died in 1926, aged 70.
