OGANISERS of next year's North West Stages Rally are promising the toughest event ever.

Final plans are being put in place by Motorsport (North West) Ltd for the route, which contains over 80 stage miles with around 120 road miles.

And there is also a brand new stage at a never-before-rallied venue, which will remain secret for security reasons.

The rally will again be based at Pontin's Blackpool and will take place on Saturday February 16 with scrutineering located at Moorland Motors the previous evening. The action is due to start early morning with the long Promenade Stage, starting in the north at Norbreck, that has only been used once before in 2006.

And with stages run in darkness, competitors can expect a late finish.

Legend Fires, the Blackburn based company owned by Metro 6R4/Accent WRC driver John Stone, will sponsor the rally for a fifth consecutive year and the event will be known as the Legend Fires North West Stages Rally.

Regulations will be available late December and interested parties should register their interest by emailing annmccormackuk@yahoo.com
