Stanley defender Jimmy Dunne and boss John Coleman have been shortlisted for the League Two player and manager of the month awards respectively.

Burnley loanee Dunne impressed in his six outings last month as Stanley recorded five wins and a draw, keeping three clean sheets. The 20-year-old joined Stanley on loan in January, his first taste of EFL football having previously spent time at National League side Barrow.

The judging panel said: “In his first taste of EFL football, the 20-year-old was asked to mark some of League Two’s strongest strikers. Only four goals conceded and three clean sheets in six games say he coped well.”

Dunne is competing alongside Jamie Devitt (Carlisle), Mohamed Eisa (Cheltenham) and Marc Richards (Swindon) for the February prize.

Coleman is shortlisted having led Stanley to 16 points from a possible 18 last month as they moved in to second place.

He is nominated alongside Mark Cooper (Forest Green), Joe Dunne (Cambridge) and ex-Mansfield boss Steve Evans.

The panel said: “A stellar month of performances under Coleman’s wily guidance lifted them into second, within three points of leaders Luton.”

The winners will be announced on Friday morning.
