ROVERS boss Tony Mowbray wants his side to learn the lessons from their last game ahead of the visit of Bury tonight.

Rovers had to come from two down to draw 2-2 against struggling Oldham Athletic in their last Ewood clash.

Tonight sees another game against a side battling the drop when Ryan Lowe’s Shakers make the short journey up the M66.

And the Rovers chief is wary of the challenge.

He said: “Bury have had a struggling season down at the bottom of the table but we know from watching them that they have some really talented individuals that they have gone five games unbeaten and it is just another difficult test as Oldham was.

“The season they have had, you hoped that we would get a result (against Oldham) but they looked like Real Madrid in the first 25 minutes.

“Every game is difficult. I am sure Bury will come and ask questions of us on Monday night and we have to try and find the answers.”

Bury will arrive at Ewood 23rd in the table and 10 points from safety but on a five-game unbeaten run.

Results have improved under Lowe, who replaced Chris Lucketti in the hotseat a little over a month ago.

Lowe was also in charge, on a caretaker basis, when Rovers won at Gigg Lane in November.

And Mowbray believes Rovers will come up against a confident outfit despite their league position.

“I think we played Bury when Ryan was in charge last time.” Mowbray said. “We managed to take a positive result but they have gone five unbeaten.

“They will take some confidence from that, they will see it almost as a free hit coming to Ewood. They can be really positive and be on the front foot.

“They will have looked at the Oldham game, for instance, and seen how they had some joy doing certain thinks and we have to guard against that.

“We have to keep the concentration levels high and hopefully over 90 minutes we wear them down and push them back as we managed to do with Oldham.

“I feel as if the quality we have on the pitch over 90 minutes will ask enough questions of them and hopefully get us the three points.”

Mowbray is also grateful to the extra two days’ rest the Sky Sports clash has afforded his side, given the lengthy midweek trip back from Portsmouth.

Asked if that was a bonus he said: “Definitely, we got back at 4am from Portsmouth.

“We allowed the players to get a good rest and get their sleep patterns back on track.

“We are getting a three-day build into this game and there will be no stone unturned.

“We will try and give them problems.”
