Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the 2-2 draw with Oldham Athletic at Ewood Park.

David Raya 5

Will have been disappointed not to have kept the second goal out having got a hand to it, but mainly a spectator in the second half

Ryan Nyambe 5

Caught out twice for the first goal and spent much of the game chasing back against a lively Oldham attack

Paul Downing 5

Struggled in the physical battle with Davies as Rovers defended too deep before being taken off at the break

Charlie Mulgrew 6

Wasn’t at his best and caught out defensively at times, including the second goal, but his trusty left foot came up with a stunning free-kick

Derrick Williams 6

His link-up play with Bell in the first half wasn’t working, but he looked much more assured in the second half

Richie Smallwood 5

Tried his best to put himself about but found himself part of a midfield that was over-run in the first half

Elliott Bennett 6

Struggled in central midfield but was much better when operating from the right in the second half where he ran at his man time and again

Jack Payne 6

An early shot apart, was anonymous in the first half but improved in a central role in the second when he went close to a winner

Bradley Dack 7

Was one who looked anything like their usual self in the first half. Came up with an assist for Armstrong’s goal and went close late on

Amari’i Bell 5

Didn’t look comfortable in a wide left role and operating as a wing-back in the second didn’t make the most of his opportunities

Danny Graham 6

No service in the first half and few sights of goal in the second but played a part in the equaliser

Subs

Lewis Travis (for Downing, 46) 8 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

Played without fear from the moment he stepped on to the pitch. Industrious out of possession, harrying to good effect, but his composure on the ball was equally as impressive. Looks ready for a more involved role in the first-team

Adam Armstrong (for Smallwood, 46) 7

Looked much more comfortable in a central role. Took his goal well and went close to a winner with a 25 yard strike late on
