CRAIG Conway says Rovers can’t dwell on the opening two games and must look to right the wrongs at Bradford City on Saturday.

Rovers went in to the League One season as promotion favourites, but have been beaten by Southend and Doncaster in the opening two weekends..

Next up is a trip to the Bantams who were unbeaten in their 23 home league fixtures last season, with Conway hoping to be involved after recovering from a hamstring injury.

And the 32-year-old wants to play his part in a Rovers revival, insisting it is down the players to turn the form around.

“We haven’t started great but it’s down to us to go and change that and every game is another chance for us and we have to go out and do it on the pitch,” Conway said.

“We know where we want to be this season and we want to go straight back up.

“We have not started great but we can’t dwell on that.

“We have a big game Saturday, people are getting back fit and hopefully we can start a run off.

“You can’t be down in the dumps about it, at the end of the day the games come thick and fast and we are more than capable of winning games anywhere and that will be the plan this weekend.

“We have had a good week of preparation and we are going out there to hopefully put things right.”

Conway, who is just four short of 150 in a Rovers shirt, expects to be back for the Bradford trip.

The Scot started the opening two friendlies of the summer against Barrow - where he scored the opening goal - and Sparta Prague, before being unavailable for the final four pre-season games.

But having trained with the squad in the last week he is confident of being able to play his part.

Conway added: “It’s been hard missing the last couple of weeks and missing the first two games, and the cup as well.

“It’s been frustrating just to watch but I’m feeling really good, I’ve been back training and feeling really good and fit.

“I did all the running and then was involved in the Barrow and Sparta Prague games so I missed a little bit but not too much, and just looking forward to getting back involved.”

Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has said that he has faith in the Rovers squad that they can turn things around and it is a view shared by Conway.

“There’s no doubt about it, we have the quality in the squad, but we have to do it on the park,” he added.

“The manager has been brilliant, we have a good squad of players and hopefully it will come good which I’m sure it will.”
