GEORGE Boyd has signed a two-year deal with Sheffield Wednesday, confirming his Burnley exit.
The 31-year-old was out of contract at Turf Moor this summer and turned down a one-year extension, with the option of a further year in the club's favour, to pursue a two-year deal elsewhere.
The former Peterborough and Hull City man technically left the Clarets when his contract expired last Friday, but it has now been confirmed that he will move to Hillsborough.
That will see Boyd reunited with former Turf Moor teammate David Jones, with the midfielder making the same move last summer.
Boyd was Burnley's joint club-record signing when he arrived from Hull City for £3million ahead of the 2014/15 Premier League season and in his three-year stay with the club he made 123 appearances, scoring 12 goals.
