ACCRINGTON Stanley have announced that they will have a precautionary pitch inspection at 10.30am tomorrow to determine whether the Wham Stadium playing surface is fit to host the League Two clash with Wycombe Wanderers (7.45pm).

The Reds were forced to call off last Tuesday's home clash with Cambridge United two hours before kick-off after torrential downpours in East Lancashire left large areas of standing water on the pitch.

More heavy rain over the weekend meant that this morning there were again areas of water visible.

But with skies clearing and work having been carried out to remove the moisture, the surface is now clear.

However, a Football League referee will visit the Wham Stadium in the morning to assess the state of the turf ahead of the game against the Chairboys.

The decision has been taken due to the contradictory nature of the weather forecast over the next 24 hours.
