SEAN Dyche said he has no concerns about fielding calls enquiring about his players during the January transfer window.

While Burnley will be targetting new additions next month there could also be interest in some of Dyche’s squad, with several Premier League clubs continuing to be linked with central defender Michael Keane.

But Dyche said the Clarets remained ‘clear in our minds’ over enquiries for players, and he said he had become used to questioning over players potentially leaving after experiencing it as Danny Ings wound down his contract before making the move to Liverpool.

“We’ve had that ever since I’ve been here, maybe not the first six months,” Dyche said of talk about players leaving.

“I remember sitting here with what seemed the obsessive questioning about Danny Ings. It started about a year before anything happened. I was like ‘are we talking about that again?’.

“I’m quite used to it, it’s nothing new.”

Dyche is aware that if his players are being linked elsewhere it usually means that they have been impressing for Burnley, which is certainly the case for Keane.

The 23-year-old said it was ‘flattering’ to hear his name mentioned in connection with other clubs, but Dyche insists the Clarets are under no pressure to sell.

“Part of it means the players are being recognised and are doing a good job, part of it is a threat situation for the ‘what if’ scenario,” he said.

“So far we’ve been clear in our minds. We’ve made a strong case for what we’re going to do. We’re not under pressure to sell anyone and that’s my thoughts on it.”

Of the speculation around his future, Keane said: “When you see people say nice things about you, links with other clubs even it is flattering. But it only happens if you’re doing well on the pitch. It gives you that confidence but you can’t get carried away. I’ve just got to keep working hard, keep doing the same things and hopefully it carries on.”

n Stoke City boss Mark Hughes has questioned the FA’s failure to charge Ashley Barnes over an elbow on Potters defender Bruno Martins Indi in the Clarets 2-0 defeat last weekend.

“Everybody saw it apart from the FA committee which decides on retrospective action, but hey-ho,” he said.
