OWEN Coyle says his side must bring all facets of their game together if they’re to continue their unbeaten run at Preston on Saturday.

Rovers didn’t hit the heights they had in the win at Newcastle on November 26 in last Saturday’s draw with Huddersfield, but came away with a point courtesy of Danny Graham’s penalty.

That extended their unbeaten run to three games, but ahead of a busy period of games Coyle is eyeing an improved all-round showing.

The boss was impressed with the way Rovers defended, but is looking for more quality on the ball in the Deepdale clash.

“If you’d have offered us seven points from nine then we would have been pleased with that, but that being said, we wanted to gather all nine,” the Ewood chief said.

“But we can’t affect that now, what we can affect is the games coming up in the Christmas period and that starts with Preston.

“We have to make sure we’re at our best against a very good side, a side that have picked up some very big results this year.

“In terms of passing and moving the ball, we didn’t do that well enough last week but there were a lot of other things that we did well last week in terms of the blocks we made and the way we defended.

“If we can bring that all together then we have a chance to get all the three points and that’s what we’ll be looking to do.

“It’s a great opportunity with the game live on Sky for us to go and show we are a good side, as we did against Wolves with the football we played, but equally you want to get those three points.

“We’re going to have to make sure we’re at our maximum, but if we are then we’re more than capable of going and winning that tough game.”

Rovers will certainly need to start better at Deepdale than they have in their last two home games.

They were behind inside the first minute, before recovering to win 3-2, against Brentford on November 19, and trailed after five minutes against Huddersfield last weekend.

North End may have just one win in their last six games, but Coyle says it’s one tough game following on from another after the clash with the Terriers last weekend.

He added: “When I spoke to the Huddersfield manager (David Wagner) after the game he said that was as well as they had played all season.

“They have had some wonderful results and led the league so they are a good side, they’ve invested in their squad in the summer, spent some money, so we always knew it was going to be a tough game. Did we pass and move the ball as well as we have? No, but we showed a lot of other qualities, and actually late on in the game we probably had the best chances on the counter-attack to win the game.

“We’ve actually played better and lost games, but we dug in and were worthy of a point for what we did in the game.

“It’s going to be a tough game, Preston are a good side and Simon (Grayson) is a man I’ve got a lot of time for both on and off the park.”
