SAM Vokes' header for Wales against Belgium in Euro 2016 was the fifth most tweeted about moment of 2016.

Twitter has revealed it's top 10 moments of the year by quantity of tweets and every slot if filled by football.

Coming in in fifth is Burnley striker Vokes' unforgettable moment of joy during Wales' remarkable run in France during June and July.

Vokes came off the bench 10 minutes from time for the Red Dragons, who were winning 2-1 against Belgium in the Euro 2016 quarter-finals. Six minutes later he glanced home a header from Chris Gunter's cross to seal victory and a last four spot for Chris Coleman's side, sending a nation, and thousands of Burnley fans, into ecstasy.

That header saw a spike of 59,000 tweets per minute at 9.42pm on July 1.

Topping the Twitter charts is England's 2-1 defeat to Iceland, which saw 128,000 tweets per minute, while Leicester winning the Premier League title came second with 107,000 tweets a minute.
