ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman was pleased with a professional performance as the Reds booked their place in the FA Cup third round with a 3-0 win over National League side Woking on Sunday.

The Reds went ahead through Billy Kee and after the home side saw Charlie Carter sent off Kee added a second before the break and John O’Sullivan sealed the success in the second half.

The result means Stanley go into tonight’s draw along with the Premier League big boys.

And Coleman was happy to see his side, struggling for form in League Two, pick up a first win in five.

He said: “Woking started really brightly and I think they belied their league position. They are a decent side and in games like this they are always going to raise their game.

“We have been brought up on non-league football so it is not a shock to us, we knew how a team like this would play.

“I was really impressed with how they started.

“It was a bit of a scrappy goal that we got and then the sending off has made it 10 times easier for us because we were able to keep the ball on a bobby surface.

“Fair play to Woking because they kept plugging away and asked questions late on.

“I was a bit disappointed with the way we saw out the last 20 minutes because we got sloppy and let the game be played in our half when we certainly should have been looking for more goals.

“They had a good chance after two minutes and if that goes in you are looking at a totally concept of the game but possibly that is the little break that we needed.

“We played some good attacking football and we did make chances and thankfully we took some of them.

“There will be plenty of teams who will go out at this stage who are fancied to win their games so to overcome this hurdle is a good achievement for the lads.”

And the Reds can now dream of a Wham Stadium clash with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool when the draw takes place this evening (7pm).

“We have given ourselves a chance of a financial windfall and if we can get that it can make a difference for the club for years to come,” added Coleman.

One negative for the Reds was a knee injury picked up by goalkeeper Elliott Parish in the warm-up with Coleman adding of his stopper: “It is a massive concern and we will look at over the next couple of days and assess what we are doing.”
