BEATING Derby County on their home patch was a great result and it should give the Blackburn Rovers players loads of confidence.

But it wasn’t just the result which impressed me; it was the way that we did it.

To come from behind to win a second straight game, but especially at the iPro Stadium, shows that we have got a lot of character in the team at the moment.

We all feared Derby would score their first home league goal of the season against us. So it proved but the lads did not let their heads drop when they went 1-0 down.

No matter the position Derby find themselves to come back and get three points was, as I say, a great result.

I was pleased for Danny Graham after he got the winner. He could have let his head go down after a poor start to the season by his high standards.

But he went on to that pitch with a point to prove and he showed he wants to try and get back in the side.

But whoever starts up front tonight Rovers should be confident of getting something from Sheffield Wednesday.

Wednesday surprised me how well they did last season and I expect them to be up there again given the players they have brought in.

But I wouldn’t bet against us getting something. Leeds are a good example of what can happen when you get a bit of momentum.

They were down with us a couple of weeks ago and now they’re safely in mid-table.

We’re trying to follow in their footsteps with a couple of wins but the trick is now keeping it going and building on it.

And I do believe Rovers can do that tonight – especially if the fans keep on giving such brilliant backing.

We know the supporters have their issues with the owners but as long as the players are giving it everything they will always be backed.

The players are certainly putting in 100 per effort now and Rovers fans always respond to that.

Here’s hoping they roar the lads to another victory tonight and get us further up the league.
