SEAN Dyche says Burnley are ‘differently equipped’ for the challenge of surviving in the Premier League this time as he prepares his players for a trip to Chelsea.

The Clarets manager saw his side nullify Jurgen Klopp’s Reds last weekend and will try to do the same to Antonio Conte’s Blues tomorrow.

Two seasons ago Burnley were relegated by five points after making a sluggish start to the season.

But Dyche says he will tell his players to make the ‘impossible dream’ a reality by ‘giving every inch’ in rising to that challenge, starting at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “We’re differently equipped. We still need players, and we’re working hard on that, but it’s a different group. We had to change the group from losing players at the beginning of last season and the team has morphed slightly differently.

“We keep doing that and trying to get a team for what everyone would deem the impossible challenge for a club like us.

“We want to make it possible.

“We said that two years ago and didn’t quite get there. We want to do that again this year.

“It’s obvious we’re not leading the market with finance or depth of squad, but what will become apparent, and it already has, is we are willing for the challenge and we’ll give every inch of ourselves to achieve what we want.”

The relief at last weekend’s victory, which came unexpectedly against a side who had beaten Arsenal in some style the game previously, was palpable around Turf Moor.

But Dyche says his glee was more connected with the fact that the wait for a win wouldn’t become ‘the story’ surrounding the club as they aim to retain a chair at English football’s top table.

While the Turf Moor side continue that quest, Chelsea will have watched last night’s Champions League draw with envy - determined to break back into the competition after a rare season out of the European limelight.

And Dyche knows they remain one of the tougher sides his troops will face.

“We believe in what we do here, that we can win football matches, that we can effect games in different ways,” he said.

“We know we’re going to have to do that this season.

“It’s not impossible but improbable that we’re going to be dominating the ball every week.

“It’s improbable that we’re going to be smashing teams, home or away.

“It’s more possible that we can do things that can effect teams and win games. We concentrate on what we can do against different opposition.

“There are tougher opposition, particularly away from home, and I do class Chelsea as one of those, for sure.”
