Ipswich Town chairman David Sheepshanks insists the Championship club are still hopeful of signing Blackburn Rovers' Franny Jeffers.

Ipswich have already had two bids rejected for the 26-year-old, but Sheepshanks has not given up his pursuit of the striker, and hopes a deal can be done by the end of the month.

"All is not lost," said Sheepshanks. "We are still very keen to sign Franny, and he is still very keen to join us.

"Currently Blackburn have a higher valuation than we are able to meet.

"But I remain hopeful we can reach agreement over a fee in the next two weeks or so."
