AS BURNLEY Football Club prepares for the long race for Premier League survival it will have a foal firmly in its corner.

It comes as the club’s fans voted to name a rescue foal at Happa (Horses and Ponies Protection Association) Dychio in honour of manager Sean Dyche.

Dychio was born around the time of the club’s promotion to the Premier League and Happa, which has a rescue centre in Shores Hey Farm, Halifax Road, Briercliffe, took the opportunity to continue their association with the team at Turf Moor by asking Clarets supporters to choose a suitable name for him, with the club’s manager proving the most popular.

And Dychio has already achieved Premier status by making it into Happa’s Second Chance Sponsorship squad.

Equine development officer Laura Brown said: “Dychio is super cute and we will be looking for a suitable foster placement for him when he is a little older.

“The Second Chance Sponsorship Scheme is a great opportunity for people to be involved in equine welfare in a really positive way and I hope that all Burnley supporters will take advantage of this great offer and support Happa’s newest signing.”

The scheme was developed to help promote rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of horses and ponies at Happa.

Sponsors make a bespoke rehabilitation process possible for each animal on the scheme by offering their support and in return they are encouraged to take an active interest in their chosen pony’s progress by visiting the centre, receiving regular updates and receiving a special rosette when the animal starts a new life in their foster or forever home.

Burnley Football Club is already a Second Chance Sponsor and you can sponsor Happa Dychio for the special celebration rate of £30 (on production of your Burnley FC season ticket or Burnley FC Supporter number). The offer runs until July 31.

To join the scheme, call Laura on 01282 455992, email secondchance@happa.org.uk or visit Shores Hey Farm, 11am-4pm any day of the week.
