BURNLEY will face Bolton Wanderers in a pre-season friendly at the Macron Stadium on Tuesday, July 26 (8pm kick-off).

It is the first pre-season friendly announced by the Clarets so far, with the rest of the schedule for Sean Dyche's side currently being finalised.

Burnley and Bolton were both in the Championship this season but while the Clarets are preparing for life back in the Premier League, Wanderers were relegated and will play their football in League One next season.

Andre Gray scored all four of Burnley's goals against Bolton this season as they ran out 2-0 winners at Turf Moor and then followed it up with a 2-1 success at the Macron Stadium.

Wanderers are still on the lookout for a new manager following the departure of Neil Lennon.

Ticket prices for the friendly will be announced at a later date while Burnley are warning the date could yet be changed depending on the rest of their pre-season schedule.

Burnley's development squad have confirmed their friendlies ahead of the 2016/17 season. The Clarets' Under-21 side are away at Colne (July 22), Altrincham (July 29) and Chester (August 3) before fixtures against Sunderland (August 5) and Middlesbrough (August 9).
