MATT Kilgallon is set to be given another chance to impress Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Lambert in Saturday’s home clash with Huddersfield Town.

Centre-back Kilgallon came in from the cold to play left-back in last Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Wolves.

The 32-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, earned the praise of his manager after what was only his third start of the season.

And with Tommy Spurr still sidelined by an achilles injury Kilgallon is again likely to be preferred to Adam Henley for the visit of the Terriers.

“I thought Matty did great,” said Lambert, who expects to have everyone available apart from the sidelined Spurr and the suspended Craig Conway.

“Matty had not played in a long time, and he’s not a left-back, but he did ever so well and we were delighted for him and his performance.

“I played him as I just thought he’d give us a balance on his natural left side. That’s why I decided to change it.

“He’s got good experience and he’s a good lad as well.”

Jason Lowe will also be hopeful of keeping his place after coming through his first match in more than seven months unscathed.

Lambert said of the returning midfielder: “Jason will be better for playing and I thought he did well.

“I had made up my mind on Thursday to play him but I never told him.

“I threw it upon him before the game because sometimes if you give players time to think they run things through their head and it can make them a little bit nervous."

“He was dogged. Everything you get from Jason is what you see in training. He gives it everything and tries to do everything right.”

Fellow midfielder Hope Akpan missed the Molineux match with a leg injury but he is pencilled in to return to training today.

Striker Danny Graham came off after just 16 minutes against Wolves after complaining of tightness in his hamstring.

He has yet to train this week and has been undergoing treatment with the Rovers physios.

However, Graham is hopeful of leading the line against Huddersfield this Saturday.

Tickets in the Bryan Douglas Darwen End home section and the whole of the Ronnie Clayton Blackburn End cost £10, £5 for concessions and £2 for juniors.
