BURNLEY pair Sean Dyche and Ben Mee have been nominated for the Championship's January manager and player of the month awards.

The Clarets have enjoyed a fine month which yielded 10 points from four games as well as an FA Cup victory over Middlesbrough.

January included two stand-out away wins at MK Dons and Brentford as well as a thumping 4-1 home success over promotion rivals Derby County.

The recent run of good form means Dyche's side are currently third in the table.

The Burnley boss faces competition from Hull City's Steve Bruce, who will come up against the Clarets on Saturday, Nottingham Forest's Dougie Freedman and Birmingham City's Gary Rowett.

Mee was one of the stand-out performers for Burnley having been moved into the centre of defence alongside Michael Keane.

The 26-year-old, who has played left back for much of his Clarets career, put in a series of consistent displays as Burnley's backline was breached just twice in four league games.

Mee faces competition from Hull striker Abel Hernandez, Sheffield Wednesday frontman Gary Hooper and Birmingham City midfielder Maikel Kieftenbeld.

The winners of both awards will be announced tomorrow.
