BEN Mee says Burnley will not be daunted by Leicester City’s revival in form when the Foxes arrive at Turf Moor for a relegation six-pointer on Saturday.

Leicester had been bottom of the Premier League table since December but leapfrogged the Clarets at the weekend with a third successive victory.

Nigel Pearson’s side are now 18th and only goal difference away from moving out of the relegation zone.

But Burnley are just two points behind Leicester and Mee insists the Clarets will feel confident of victory, despite their opponents’ recent form.

“We’ve had teams come to Turf Moor high in confidence before so there’s no reason why we can’t get a result,” the defender said.

“Anything is possible and we’ll be looking to get the points.

“We’ve always been confident so there’s no reason why that will change.”

Leicester and Burnley gained automatic promotion together last season but it was the Foxes who won the league fixture at Turf Moor 2-0 before going on to clinch the title.

The Clarets lost Sam Vokes to a cruciate knee ligament injury early in that game.

Mee, though, says this match will be different.

“There’s a different prize at stake and it’ll be a completely different game,” he said.

“It was a bit of an odd game last year. We lost Sam early doors and we didn’t recover from that.

“I’m looking forward to it.”

The Leicester match is the first of five crucial matches in the run-in.

Burnley then have trips to West Ham United and Hull City before a home game against Stoke City and a final match of the season at Aston Villa, who will be preparing for the FA Cup final a week later.

“They’re massive,” Mee said of the last five games.

“It’s a big run-in so we’ve got to enjoy it and hopefully we’ll pick up the amount of points that we need.”

The Clarets, however, will be without the suspended Ashley Barnes on Saturday after the striker was sent off in the loss at Everton.

“He’ll be a big miss,” Mee admitted.

“But we’ve got players who can come in and do a job.

“We’re all ready for it and I’m sure somebody will come in and do a great job.”
