DARWEN produced one of their best displays of the season against the league leaders in North West Counties Division Two.
But it was the visitors who took the lead on 35 minutes, Gerrard McAllister looping a header over Darwen goalkeeper Danny Holland and into the net.
Darwen levelled three minutes later. Stuart Telfer ran down the left line and into the area. His measured pass found Neil Almond at the far post, and he clinically despatched into the net.
Winsford caught the home team cold at the start of the second-half, when unmarked Danny Topping headed in following a free-kick.
Telfer had a penalty saved by Jamie Mottershead, but Darwen equalised again when debutant Jason Jones tucked home into an unguarded net.
