HOME games don’t come much tougher than Manchester City but Burnley proved in the away game at the Etihad that they can shock the champions.

The lads can take huge confidence from that result, it was a stunning comeback from 2-0 down and nobody expected it to happen.

When City were 2-0 up it looked like they would win easily but they will now know that Burnley never give up, and you would expect them to be ready for that this time.

It’s a big game for City, they will be desperate to close the gap on Chelsea and they are still in the Champions League as well, so they may well have one eye on the Barcelona game at the Nou Camp. If that’s the case then Burnley have to take advantage.

Because of that there will be pressure on City, but we need the points for our own cause.

You can’t go gung-ho against a team like City, you’ve got to be tight at the back and when the chances come you need to take them.

City have shown recently that they are vulnerable defensively. Vincent Kompany has been a fantastic player for them, but he has made a couple of mistakes and he’s shown he is human after all, so we have to try and capitalise on that.

We’ll get a chance or two and it’s games like this when you need Danny Ings and Ashley Barnes to be on their toes.

The crowd can also play a big part. As a supporter you look at home games against City, Tottenham and Arsenal and they are exciting games.

The players will be up for it, the fans will be up for it and so they will be great occasions.

If the supporters can make it a great atmosphere then it can make a big difference to the lads on the pitch.

Nobody expects Burnley to get anything out of those games but if the fans really get behind them and make Turf Moor loud and intimidating then it can only help the Clarets.
