IT is a massive game at Sunderland this weekend, and it’s one I would take a point from now if I was offered it.

There’s no point beating around the bush, both teams are down there and in danger and they will be desperate for the points to try and pull away.

If we could get three points that would be brilliant, but away from home you are almost always happy with a point and that would be a good result here.

They’ve only won once at home all season so they are bound to be a bit nervous, and the fans could be too, so if we could start quickly, like we have done a couple of times recently, that would be ideal. The fans could get on their backs if Burnley take an early lead.

I mentioned last week that the back four had been conceding sloppy goals and I think it needs looking at. I would like to see Ben Mee moved back in the centre of defence, I think he is better there than at full-back and he makes us stronger playing there.

He gets a bit exposed at full-back yet he looks more solid at centre-back, so that is definitely an option. It may be that something like that is easier to do when Stephen Ward returns and he can play left-back.

Steven Fletcher will be playing against his former club for Sunderland and he is a player that did well for Burnley.

He scored goals and will need to be watched carefully. His partnership with Jermain Defoe is a strong one, there is definitely goals there in that strike force.

It will be a good test for the defence in how they cope with two quality strikers. The defending hasn’t been great of late but hopefully they can be up to it on Saturday.

The money and wages Sunderland paid for Fletcher and Defoe shows the challenge Burnley are facing. We haven’t got that sort of money, and more often than not that is what it comes down to.

Burnley will struggle to get proven Premier League quality like that in, but they have to try and sell to players that they can develop their careers here, like Danny Ings has, and that opens us possibilities for them.
