And in conjunction, Moorhouse’s Brewery will also continue to sponsor the T20 competition.

Lancashire League chairman Mike Bibby said: “We are very pleased to continue the association with Foster’s and Heineken UK.

“We’ve had an excellent relationship with them, they have shown so much interest in the league.

“They will be involved with the 125th anniversary of the formation of the league in 2017, so we are looking forward to that.

“And we are pleased to have local business on board again, with Moorhouse’s Brewery.

“With the league, whatever sponsorship money we get it is all distributed back to the clubs at the end of each season. Every club benefits in some way – some more than others.

“We’re a non-profit making organisation so as long as we can put money back to the clubs they can use it however they want to, and whatever money is left meets our running costs. Nothing is retained by the league. We’re very lucky to get a deal. It’s not easy in the modern day and age with the economic climate as it is.”

Howard Cook, multiple account manager for Heineken UK, said the new agreement would build on the existing three-year relationship between the league and the company.

He said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with the Lancashire Cricket League and we are looking forward to a great new season.”

Lowerhouse were crowned Lancashire League champions last season.
