BEFORE the game against QPR the talk was about Charlie Austin and Danny Ings.

I have no doubt that one day they will wear the Three Lions jersey, but I feel Charlie misses Danny’s contribution and he had to settle for scoring from the penalty spot, whereas Danny’s goal was complete class.

He has two fast feet and his ball control is excellent, and of course the talk will be can we keep Danny?

I feel he is happy at Turf Moor but big money talks and I have no doubt some of these big money clubs will be trying to entice him away, even as you’re reading this.

It happened to me all those years ago but Bob Lord kept refusing me permission to talk to them.

I hope Danny stays at least until we overcome the relegation battle.

Scott Arfield put us ahead with a tremendous individual effort in the 12th minute and personally I would nominate his goal for goal of the season. It was a cracker.

I haven’t mentioned Tom Heaton much this season but on Saturday he was magnificent and after I saw Joe Hart’s mistake for Manchester City against Everton I feel that Tom must be up there as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League.

I also feel we need Danny Ings to stay now that Sam Vokes is nearing full fitness.

I’m sure this duo will start combining again into the fearsome pair of strikers they were in the Championship.

But I’ve got to give credit to the manager for getting these good results when he has got everything stacked against him.

He handles everything in a very professional manner and I know the Clarets fans just adore him.

We have Crystal Palace next and they enjoyed a Saturday night out by beating Spurs.

It’s a big game and the three points on offer must be a big incentive to this Clarets XI.

I’ve mentioned it before but there are no easy games and you have to go out there and win them.

The supporters are 100 percent behind you and I’m sure all of the squad wouldn’t want to disappoint you.

For Charlie Austin to celebrate in front of the Clarets fans was wrong. Why doesn’t he realise he was a legend here? He will never be revered at the Turf again.

We treated him so well and gave him his transfer and he behaves like that. It was a bit cheeky.
