Danny has come out and said he sees his immediate future at Burnley and let’s hope that is the case, but you can’t blame him for keeping his options open for the end of the season.

He’s been in great form this season, he’s looked very sharp recently and he is the main goalscorer, we can’t afford to do without those goals for the rest of the season.

It doesn’t come at a good time either with two big games coming up at home.

The next two at home are against teams who are down there struggling, in QPR and Crystal Palace. It is important we got maximum points from those games.

It is a crucial stage of the season, the next three or four weeks are massive in our bid for survival and we need our best players firing in those matches.

In these two home games we should be looking to beat both teams, we have to go out and attack them both.

Our home form from now until the end of the season is going to be crucial. The team did brilliantly to get the points away at Manchester City and Newcastle and they should have beaten Liverpool, but now we’ve got to be winning games against the teams in and around us.

The fact the FA Cup replay against Tottenham is next week doesn’t help, it’s a bad time for a trip to London with those two home games either side of it. It would have been nice to get the job done on Monday night, now we have an extra game to cope with during an important stage of the season, and the risk of some injuries.

On the plus side though it was great to see Sam Vokes scoring in that match. He took his goal really well after good work from Michael Kightly, and it was a big moment for him after his injury.

He will probably think he is knocking on the door for a start now, but there is competition there with Ashley Barnes playing so well.
