ACCRINGTON Stanley boss John Coleman is determined to book a £200,000 FA Cup date with Manchester United tonight to ease the financial burden on chairman Peter Marsden.

Stanley travel to League One side Yeovil in an FA Cup second round replay, with the winners hosting United in the third round live on BT Sport on January 4.

The Reds would get a television fee of £144,000 as well as gate receipts, prize money and further income that would total at least £200,000.

Stanley have faced a battle to make ends meet in recent seasons, with Marsden investing sizeable chunks of his own money.

Coleman says he has no had discussions about whether victory would give him money to spend during the January transfer window, knowing that the cash is needed elsewhere.

“I would welcome it just to take the pressure off the people who are continually trying to keep the club afloat,” said the Reds boss.

“The crowds we are getting aren’t conducive to supporting a Football League club.

“The people behind the scenes do wonders to keep the club afloat so it would take the pressure off them and that’s what I would like to see more than anything.”
