BURNLEY manager Sean Dyche has been reassured that he will have money to strengthen his squad in January.

The Clarets spent around £8million on recruitment post-promotion, with a total of 10 players – five of them commanding fees – walking through the Turf Moor doors.

It is the most the club has splashed out in a single transfer window, and tops the summer spend of 2009 – the last time they won promotion to the Premier League – by more than £1m.

But the Burnley board managed their budget carefully to ensure that Dyche will be in a position to arm himself for the second half of the season and make additions where necessary when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.

“We’ve got some money left for January so that it keeps our options open,” said co-chairman John Banaszkiewicz, who added that he was pleased with Burnley’s summer business.

“I’ve congratulated Sean on his transfer activity.

“It’s not been easy, it’s been challenging, but it’s been a learning curve as well.”

Burnley were frustrated in their attempts to make a number of signings.

Bids for Watford striker Troy Deeney, West Brom defender Craig Dawson, Derby County duo Craig Bryson and Richard Keogh and Wigan Athletic midfielder James McArthur were all knocked back.

Bryson opted to sign a new deal with the promotion hunting Rams, and Keogh is expected to do the same, McArthur made a £7m switch to Crystal Palace after the fee escalated beyond Burnley’s boundaries, while Deeney and Dawson remained with their respective clubs.

But the Clarets felt certain aspects were beyond their control.

“The Ross McCormack deal and a couple of others distorted the market a lot,” said Banaszkiewicz, with reference to the surprise £11million fee paid by Fulham to Leeds for last year’s Championship top scorer.

“There have been some inflated prices. I’ve only been a director for three years, but this has definitely been the most challenging period.

“But it all came good in the end.”

Great business from Dyche and money to spend in January. Unfortunately right around the time our transfer embargo comes into force and we have to sell to reduce our losses. Sadly I think Rhodes might get the Premier League move he craves and Burnley could well be an option.

Not looking forward to January AT ALL.

Ten players in and our squad has improved immeasurably with quality cover for every single position.

We also have the spine of England Under 21s with Keane, Chalobah and Ings.

I am confident that we will stay up and the fact that we can add to the squad in January if necessary is a massive bonus.

Aww poor old mid-table Second Division Blackburn fans - all bitter and jealous about their bigger and better neighbours.

Given your pathetic record at predictions last season where you said we would not last the pace and how you would beat us in March and how even hilariously that you would beat us in the play off finals, then forgive me if I treat this season's predictions like this:

Embarrassed for you pal.

The dingles are laughing at us enough, the last thing we need is to show them how much their success combined with our abject failure hurts us, and by typing your little line on each and every article regardless of content that is exactly what you're doing. You are telling the dingles that their presence in the top flight makes you cry a little everyday. It tells them that you're jealous and desperate and at the end of your tether.

Its time we accepted it.

Burnley are in the Premier League on merit, we arent and we never will be. Burnley have proved they can hold their own by taking points off Manchester United, while we disgrace ourselves by getting spanked off Wolves.

Lets move on eh.

I suggest you try to be less jealous of their top flight status. You're making yourself look like a c0ck.

Yes we are truly terrified that Burnley will come in with a circa 15 million pound bid and pay Rhodes wages.
You will have to stick with Ings and Juke's blistering premier goalscoring power.

A figure of £6m to £8m is far more likely given that we will have to sell in January. Its a buyers market when FFP is calling the shots. There is also the possibility of a loan move which would give Rhodes the move he desperately wants whilst allowing us to pay only a percentage of his salary thus saving money. Lets be honest here we're not playoff material by any stretch of the imagination and midtable is likely to be the best we can achieve as long as we stay injury free.

Offloading Rhodes to BFC will probably happen, but there more to it than meets the eye. Playing Happy Families and sharing players like Reid Keene and Rhodes results in tear sharing too, we will be lucky to finish in top half whilst Bfc will be back down, so Rhodes won’t know which way to turn, poor lad. Can't see why Rhodes is to become a BFC-player.. We've allready got four strikers and a fifth one isn't needed. Besides, no use paying £10m + for a medicore player that's not worth more than £4-5m, even if he is your best player and only a handful clubs will be willing to pay him the 50k p/w. He's a smart kid in a way, knowing that he'll earn more thanks to the Venkys.

I can understand why the Blackburn fans are really finding all this so hard to swallow. Following Burnley’s promotion, win at Ewood in March, FFP looming for them and Burnley go and make good signings (including Blackburn’s main target) and now announce that there is money available in January. I suppose it’s just not fair.

15 million? I had to wipe the tears of laughter from my eyes to read that a second time. You pay over the odds (8m) for a championship player and think you can get 15m? Hull stopped at 14m and people were laughing at that. Let's see, a proven, quality prem player (Balottelli) is 16m, okay, so how is a player who has never kicked a prem ball and performed similarly to, say, Ings (who had time out injured) worth 15m? Given that the Rovers fans estimate of Ings value of around 4/5m (as your lot constantly come on here saying) how does that all equate? Is there a poor quality of maths and logic education in Blackburn.

Given that the Rovers fans estimate of Ings value of around 4/5m (as your lot constantly come on here saying) how does that all equate? Is there a poor quality of maths and logic education in Blackburn. houseclaret

Yes we are truly terrified that Burnley will come in with a circa 15 million pound bid and pay Rhodes wages.
You will have to stick with Ings and Juke's blistering premier goalscoring power.

Rhodes aint a PL player and not worth 15m, and who in both teams’ squads is there one decent player worth 15k a week ??? both teams have greedy mercenary no hopers, it just happens that Dyce has done well for a few years at Tuf, when he moves on (Just like Fergie at Manu) players will not perform and therefore deemed worthless

Yes, big clubs do (unless you're Leeds) but what exactly is your point? Surely you aren't one of those arrogant Rovers who actually thinks they are a big club? Try telling that to the fans of a big club, you'll be laughed out of town, much as you were years ago by United fans when trying to make such a claim.
I think I understand the bitterness now of Rovers fans. It stems from this amazing delusion that they are somehow a "big" club. Cast your mind back to Saturday.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Sky + MOTD,DAOF, down by February.RTID

Tell you what lets revisit this in a few months Sweetheart as i may have changed my name to Nostradamus by then, so once again Sky + MOTD,DAOF, and down by February. RTID
On the subject of repetition i see FFP mentioned on most of the Dingle posts about Blackburn so stop and think before you put the 6th digit into action our Zac, oh and surely its better to post once and a while and not say much, as opposed to you who spends most of his life on here as far as i can see. Whats the bird or your Mrs say about that, although pretty pointless question really i guess. Keep it up though you are fairly amusing now and again, albeit predictable.

"Tell you what lets revisit this in a few months Sweetheart....."

But this is exactly what we all said last season isn't it.

We were convinced the dingles were going to falter, we insisted that they hadn't played any of the top sides early doors, we were sure that we would be waving at them on the way past when "the wheels come off".

And what happened?

They beat us at Ewood Park, they went up after amassing an incredible 93 points, and in doing so they prevented us from sneaking into the play-off's and thereby have ensured that will are in fact "staying down forever".

Should they come down they come down as a vastly wealthy club and will be further boosted by the £60m parachute payments they will receive whilst boasting a squad that will be well set up for an instant Premier League return..... and should we manage to stay in the Championship then they are likely to thump us at home and away with ease... do we really want that? You need to remember that from January we are under a transfer embargo and are likely to lose all of our better players! Imagine us facing them with our current side, never mind our side minus Rhodes, Cairney, Gestede, etc. I'd rather they were a division above us than suffer a rerun of March 9th! It still keeps me awake at nights seeing the Darwen End bouncing and our once proud stadium turning Claret and Blue.

However, should they stay up as I fully expect them to do, then they will have achieved an even more incredible feat that last season, they will then benefit from another year of the massive Sky TV money which by that point will be in excess of £70m plus all of the other massive commercial benefits of being in the Premier League.

And in the meantime what of our club? While we spend our days praying for them to come down where exactly are we going?

So yes, we can revisit your hopes of a Burnley relegation whenever you see fit, but sadly its a lose/lose situation for me, you and every other Rovers fan, a horrible catch 22 that sees them either relegated and beating us soundly in the Championship, or staying up and rubbing our noses in it as we head towards League One.

These are bad times to be a Blackburn Rovers fan.

The £120 million you speak of includes four years of parachute payments totalling £60 million, so in actual fact we have received £60 million.

We have spent:

£8 million on transfers
£5 million on ground improvements
£25 million wage bill of approx
£5 million Loans repaid etc
Plus sundries leaves us with approx £15-17 million to help us get through the season and purchase players in January.

Nice try though, but like your crappy Second Division side - must do better.

It's implied in your post. You were saying, by default, that Rovers are a big club and Burnley are not. If that hadn't been the implication you wouldn't have posted it, and you know this. It's no good making a post and then denying what you meant by hiding behind what you didn't post. It's a little like the "snidey" remarks that women often make, you know the kind of thing, a little aside that when challenged we get the "oh, I never meant such a thing".
Anyway, you are right, Burnley are a small club, but so are Rovers. Enjoy it, small is beautiful.
By the way, you will note that I have not resorted to name calling (as in nerd) and I never said Rovers were a big club, if I did please point to it.

By the way, you will note that I have not resorted to name calling (as in nerd) and I never said Rovers were a big club, if I did please point to it.
If meant MANU are a big club and despite BFC holding them to a draw with the long ball game, they will be back due to their global presence, meanwhile BFC will sink to DIV 3 or 4 over the next few seasons, BRFC will hold a respectable position in the championship. Well, well, where do I begin?
1.Everyone knows who you were talking about, stop shape-shifting.
2.Man Utd will rise again but not to the level they had (Fergie was irreplaceable and there are more clubs in the hunt now, rather than just Arsenal).
3.Only you lot and Van Dutch Thing think we play long ball, every other pundit applauds what we try to do.
4.How do you come to the conclusion that Burnley will wind up in the lower divisions "in a few seasons" (timing unspecific), yes we have been there but not historically, so perhaps you could give us an insight into how this is gong to be?
5.You have at least admitted that you are a championship club and will be for the foreseeable, well done.
6.Exactly which history books do you read? Which history "tells us that Rovers are more successful"? In the last100 years we have both been champions of England twice. We have both won the FA cup once. You have the edge with the league cup (a trophy so important even league two clubs field reserves in it). We won the Anglo Scottish cup which is nearly the same (well not quite but there you go). More importantly we have spent more years in the top flight than you and, according to a friend of mine, who is the oracle of Burnley, more top three finishes. We have had a top flight continuous run of 24 years ('47/'74), a feat unmatched by Rovers.
Now, where are you historically superior? Let's see. Oh yes, most of your silverware, which you claim gives you historically more success lies when Jack the Hat kept goal whilst leaning on the goalpost smoking his pipe whilst talking to his mate behind the goal. Managers didn't matter as tactics hadn't been invented. International competition hadn't been invented because there were no planes and boats were too slow. Players frequently tripped over their shorts because they were so long. And at least 3 Rovers players were injured in an attack by the Romans.
Now I'm not being funny but most of what you have posted is actually tosh, isn't it? Try making, for instance, a prediction about Burnley that is not based in hatred, bitterness and jealousy please. Any other common sense is, of course, welcome.

I think I understand the bitterness now of Rovers fans. It stems from this amazing delusion that they are somehow a "big" club. Cast your mind back to Saturday. You were hammered by a proper big club. Two of our 3 games so far have been against big clubs. We (Burnley and Rovers) are small Lancashire clubs with big traditions. Get real!!!
i never said rovers were a big club did I ? you did, u nerd - read what i put
A few capitals, the odd full stop and some correct spelling might help your quest to stop looking stupid.

Have you been kicked off the forums about second division football? This one is about a premier league team don't you know?

Yep ... money to spend in January

120 million for getting into the PL

8 million spent this window

Are you being deliberately numb?

The £120 million you speak of includes four years of parachute payments totalling £60 million, so in actual fact we have received £60 million.

We have spent:

£8 million on transfers
£5 million on ground improvements
£25 million wage bill of approx
£5 million Loans repaid etc
Plus sundries leaves us with approx £15-17 million to help us get through the season and purchase players in January.

Nice try though, but like your crappy Second Division side - must do better.
25 million on wages for these mugs? we're bottom of the league, no wins in four and the same price for a season ticket at Arsenal and we pay 25 million in wages to these long ball merchants,

Burnley fans can cope with the success enjoyed by cubs like Man United, they can cope with their arch rivals being in the PL for a nice long spell and winning it, albeit by sucking dry an elderly gentleman called Jack. We can cope with our wilderness year because it made us what we are now, happy to be in the best league and happy that other fans look at us with hope and as a model to follow. I think what is really annoying is the pretence, the constant whingeing exaggeration of the average Rovers fan. It’s so deluded and embarrassing but they don’t seem to be able to help it.

Nice post, Cert. We have re-built from the bottom up and it is bearing fruit. It's not great while you're down but don't it feel good to be back without having to rely on someone else's money? Rovers thought that they had found another cash cow in Venkys to bleed dry but it hasn't worked out that way. Should have realised something was wrong when they found out that their new owners thought they had bought a franchise that couldn't be relegated. You really wouldn't write it would you?

WOW.

Sheer desperation to win a pointless argument. You guys really are pathetic. You can't even get facts to fit your illogical ****.
Why can't you face facts? Burnley is an incredibly well run football club. Prudent with outgoing monies, ensuring the long term future of the club. Conversely we have Rovers, paying an unproved so called Premier striker mega bucks they can really ill afford, then patching up the squad with more freebies than Kelloggs. Chances of Burnley surviving, regardless of money spent, slim but not beyond the realms of possibility. Chances of Rovers emulating what Burnley did last season, laughable.
We may struggle and you may laugh but that is all you have going for you this season because you will most certainly not be challenging for promotion. A bad January for you and I think you can start looking over your shoulders. Happy New Year.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Sky + MOTD,DAOF, down by February.RTID

And you call us predictable?

Brilliant use of irony there Georgie Boy. Have you recovered from when I completely humiliated you and outed you as the multi-user troll you really are a couple of weeks ago?

You did some serious crying on that day didn't you?
Remind me again when that was? I assure you this is the only account I have.

A turd we have to hop over, a pavement stain, human waste masking itself as a human. Online bully, keyboard warrior, snide cheap insults from his safe little benefits funded life. People who know him despise him, a fool amongst his own fans, a stool you just can't flush away. This is Duncan. He's from Brierfield and supports Blackburn. Apparently that's it. End of. No humour. No banter. Just a parasite who drinks all day.

I can understand why the Blackburn fans are really finding all this so hard to swallow. Following Burnley’s promotion, win at Ewood in March, FFP looming for them and Burnley go and make good signings (including Blackburn’s main target) and now announce that there is money available in January. I suppose it’s just not fair.
but big clubs always bounce back, minnows always sink after they have had a gulp
Yes no doubt Man U will bounce back. Whereas you lot are sinking not bouncing. Get your aqua lung on.

Gotta agree and why would Rhodes take a 30 grand a week pay cut to play at our sh1thole?
We'll be back down again by Jan now that panic buy oddbodd from carry on screaming is on board.
We really are a joke outfit

I do have degree but can't follow you. Rhodes? Don't get it. 50k per week? He must have the best agent ever who has suckered you lot - but so hsve many others. You need 2 x Keane urgently.

We also have the spine of England Under 21s with Keane, Chalobah and Ings.

I am confident that we will stay up and the fact that we can add to the squad in January if necessary is a massive bonus.
quality cover for every position ? , name me ONE player you have who would get in Hughes,s Stoke Citys side
Now that is farcical. Go and have a lie down.

I see panic is setting in Duncan.

Up at 5.56am to check if our friend has released anymore letters than will lead us to your filth encrusted flea-pit...

Perhaps you can prevent all this by just coming clean. Admit to what you are and this might all blow over. You can return to your life on the fringes of society and the message boards will be free of your bile and nonsense for good. Everyone's a winner. What do you say?

This can only get worse for you.
