NATHAN Dyer's first half goal was enough to secure back-to-back Premier League wins for Swansea and consign the Clarets to a second straight defeat.

But Burnley can count themselves unlucky not to benefit from an improved second half performance.

The slick nature and speed of Swansea's play seemed to catch the Premier League new boys by surprise at the Liberty Stadium.

But Burnley grew into the game, started the second half well and had the better of possession and chances.

But despite decent efforts from David Jones, Lukas Jutkiewicz and substitute Ashley Barnes they had not got to show for it.

It was a game of two halves as Swansea bossed the first.

Early opportunities fell to Wilfried Bony, who hit the post with a header, Wayne Routledge and Gylfi Sigurdsson as Burnley made life easy for the home side.

Dyer scored in the 23rd minute after Sigurdsson's long pass down the right caught Ben Mee out.

Tom Heaton got a hand to Dyer's strike at the end of an angled run, but couldn't keep it out.

Burnley, who had earlier gone close through Danny Ings and Matt Taylor, survived the rest of the half unscathed, and came out fighting for their second.

They could not get the goal they craved, and warranted, but they can take encouragement from the pressure they put on the home side.
