THE scoreline flattered the visitors who had to weather plenty of pressure from the Blues and took their chances when it mattered.
Clitheroe started strongly but fell behind to a superb opening goal after 30 minutes.
They doubled the lead just a minute later to give a very distorted halftime scoreline.
The Blues dominated the second half even more, but when they found a way past the competent Bradford back line, they were thwarted by a keeper who made a string of fine saves.
Bradford made the game safe with a superb 25 yard free kick from Neil Redfern before debutant striker Chris Ward notched a consolation from the penalty spot.
