IT’S now three years since Venky’s took over Blackburn Rovers and you have to say it’s been a nightmare time.

You can only hope it will get better from here on in.

But we still don’t know what’s happening and I don’t think anything has changed.

I think their biggest problem – and it’s always been their biggest problem – is that they don’t communicate with the fans.

It’s a big bugbear and I think it will remain a big bugbear until they speak to the supporters.

Yes they have made mistakes but they have never come out and clarified anything and explained the situation.

Blackburn is such a family club. If Venky’s owned Manchester United or a club like that maybe they wouldn’t have to explain anything.

But when it’s a smaller, community club like Blackburn, you have to inform the supporters.

I personally don’t think it’s a case of Venky’s coming over more often – it’s just a case of when they do that they say something.

On the field, at least, I think things are getting better.

Slowly but surely Gary Bowyer is getting his team how he wants them to be.

Even at Brighton last time out they didn’t deserve to get beat. Gary had a plan and I thought for long periods of the game it worked well.

Reading tomorrow will be a tough game for Rovers – but it is a winnable game.

They’re not in the best of form at the moment – and that has surprised me as I thought they’d be right up there.

I hope Jordan Rhodes is fit to play but there is no point risking him if he’s not fully fit.

The injury he has sustained can be very painful and you have to be careful with it.

Yes it might not be anything major but you’ve got to ask is it worth risking him for one game, only to then lose him for six or seven?

If there’s still a bit of pain there it could be in the back of Jordan’s mind.

That can affect your performance as you’re worried that you could hurt yourself again and make it worse.

He should only play if he’s totally confident in himself.
