DISABLED people are to get a dedicated Police Community Support Officer to help reduce crime and improve confidence.

PC James Holland has been appointed to the new role and will be based at Lancashire Constabulary's headquarters at Hutton, outside Preston.

The post is being funded by the police and Lancashire County Council's adult and community services department.

It will involve PC Holland working with health services, social services, and voluntary organisations to ensure disabled people are getting all the services they need and that their concerns are heard.
