A 15-YEAR-OLD boy was kidnapped from a Burnley park and held at a house for several hours where he was viciously assaulted.

Police believe the incident, which began at the Prairie Playing Fields, off Colne Road, was prompted by a personal dispute.

The teenager was approached by an Asian man while walking through the playing fields on Monday afternoon.

He was then bundled into a waiting car, thought to be a maroon Shogun-style vehicle, where another man was waiting.

The teen was held against his will and driven to "an address" in Burnley, although police have not revealed where.

He was taken inside where he was viciously assaulted, police said.

At about 6pm he managed to escape and alert the police.

He was taken to Burnley General Hospital for his injuries.

Inspector Damian Darcy said: "He was forced into the car by an Asian male and driven to an address in Burnley and assaulted.

"He managed to make an escape and was treated for his injuries at Burnley General Hospital.

"He was given a bit of a beating however his injuries were not serious."

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He was being quizzed by detectives yesterday.
