A BURY teenager is to stand trial next week, accused of murdering schoolboy Joe Geeling.
The 15-year-old defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted at an earlier hearing to killing 11-year-old Joe.
The trial opens on Monday and is due to last two weeks. A massive search was launched on March 1 this yea after Joe, who suffered from cystic fibrosis, disappeared on the way back to his home in Devon Street, Bury, from St Gabriel's RC High School. His body was discovered the following morning in a wooded gully in Whitehead Park, Bury.
