A MAN required hospital treatment after he was attacked in Blackburn train station.

The 34-year-old was punched to the floor in the incident early on Sunday morning.

Officers from British Transport police are appealing for witnesses and information after the attack.

The victim, who is from the Blackburn area, had spent the day in Manchester and was walking towards an exit when he was targeted by a group of men who had been arguing.

One of the group then said something to the victim before punching him to the face.

He had to be taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital where he received treatment for a suspected broken nose. The man who punched the victim is described as in his early 20s of stocky build, short dark hair and a tanned complexion. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
