Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused in the second attack on an East Lancashire speed camera in the space of a few days.

The incident happened in Burnley Road in Colne over the weekend, after another was petrol-bombed in Rochdale Road, Bacup.

It is believed that vandals attached a chain to a car and the Burnley Road camera before driving off in an attempt to rip it out of the pavement.

The camera was left bent out of shape and standing at an angle, surrounded by a pile of rubble.

Vigilante group Motorists Against Detection (MAD) claimed responsibility for the Rochdale Road attack and promised that more in East Lancashire would be targeted.

It is not known if MAD was behind the latest attack.
