THE UK's first adventure film festival is being staged at a Bolton cinema later this month.
A five-night programme of award-winning adventure films starts at the Vue cinema, Middlebrook Retail Park, on September 11 and each night has a different theme.
The week kicks off with a new cut of Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's road trip film, The Long Way Round, in which they travelled around the world on their motorcycles.
Other films will include free-diving with sharks and surfing the world largest waves on an ocean adventure night.
An evening of films featuring high altitude adventures includes skiing, snowboarding and mountaineering.
An on-the-edge night explores dangerous jungles and a "storm force" evening will feature programmes about tornadoes.
Viewers will also have the chance to win a £25,000 Nissan Pathfinder, an adventure holiday in Colorado and goody bags.
Tickets are available at normal cinema prices.
