TWO men arrested after a series of anti-terror raids in Bolton appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday.

Omar Altimimi, aged 37, is charged with four offences under the Terrorism Act 2000, which relate to possessing articles and collecting information for terrorist purposes.

Altimimi, of Landsowne Road, Bolton, is further charged with one offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.

Yusuf Abdullah, aged 29, of no fixed address, has been charged with one offence under the Proceeds of Crime Act and one offence under the Theft Act 1968.

Both men appeared via video link from Belmarsh prison and spoke only to confirm their names.

Bearded and bespectacled Altimimi and clean-shaven Abdullah listened to the proceedings through an Arabic interpreter.

Police arrested the men following raids on eight addresses in Bolton on June 27.

The Recorder of London, Judge Peter Beaumont, remanded the pair in custody to return to the Old Bailey for a case management hearing in the week ending December 22.

He extended their custody time limits to the same date.
